a prego mom and a cute chan chan

You guys, time is flying by... I could be meeting these baby girls in just a few weeks! Yikes! Things are starting to get real... not that they weren't real before, but now that I'm literally down to a few weeks, I'm kinda freaking myself out.

I have a cold right now. Shoot. Me. As if being super duper uncomfortable all the time isn't enough, lets just throw in my nose running everywhere, I can't breathe, my eyes watering, my throat killing me... anything else? Oh yea, I can't take any medicine. Hashtag sucks to be me right now.

I don't sleep. Seriously. I think I maybe sleep an hour at a time through the night. I get up to use the bathroom at least 4 times a night. I'm up to sleeping with 4 pillows. Yes, 4. I can only sleep on my right side... occasionally I can switch to my left, but usually it's only for a few minutes and then I'm back to my right side. I'm normally a back sleeper so this whole side sleeping thing is killing me!

I've also been having the weirdest dreams... if you want to call them dreams. I'm still in the process of getting the twins' bedding... holy expensive. and x2. Anyway, I contemplated having someone make the bedding for me... I thought maybe it would be cheaper. Well, I forgot to tell her that I wanted matching blankets as well. Don't worry, I was up all night thinking about the fact that my babies wouldn't have matching blankets for their nursery. Ha. Pathetic I know. I've also been reading Baby Wise... and in the book he talks about newborns needing to eat every 2 1/2-3 hours at first. In my most recent dream, I had these babies and went straight home from the hospital with them... and then...

I didn't feed them for 2 whole days!

I just let them sleep! WHAT?!? Don't get scared, I would NEVER do that... but in my dream, I just wanted to let them sleep and I didn't want to bother them. So I was up throughout the night stressing about feeding my newborns! Who knows what kind of craziness will go on in my dreams to come in the next few weeks.

Alright, enough about my non-sleeping habits... On to this little beauty:

Little miss Chandler Kate is so fun these days. Well, she's always been fun, but she's learning things so fast and it's so fun just to sit back and watch her.

Chandler has added so many new words and phrases to her vocabulary. Her newest:

-"there it is!" I'm pretty sure she picked this up from me... I would always ask her to find stuff and when she did, I would say to her, "there it is!" So now when she finds something on her own, that's what she says.
-"byeee" with attitude and everything. She whips out her binky and will tell you "byeee" out of nowhere. Sometimes when she's not even leaving.
-She can now point to a dog and say "ruff" but if you ask her "what does a dog say?" her response: "cat." We're working on it.
-Whenever she falls or slips or anything like that, she says, "whoa!" in a little valley girl voice.
-She points to my belly and says, "baby!" and then points to my boobs and asks, "baby??" oh geez...
-She calls her sippy cups "cuppssssss"
-Any drink or body of water she sees is "aagggmmmmm" yea, I don't know either.
-She knows where our cat's food is... she calls it "foof" and only the cat eats "foof". I've asked her "Do mommy and daddy eat food?" Her response: "no." Well, okay then.
-When she wants more of something, she sounds like the birds from Finding Nemo when they say, "mine, mine, mine." Only Chandler says, "mo, mo, mo." More, more more.
-She says "puppy" now. And it's the cutest thing ever. And "hippo". I die.
-Speaking of the word "die"... We were driving to the store the other day and Austin got a phone call... and instead of turning down the radio to hear, he tried to turn off the a/c. Uh, not happening. So after he got off the phone, I said, "You can't turn off the a/c! We'll all die in here!" Chandler from the back seat yells out "DIE!!!" and then laughed to herself.
-In the same car ride, we happened to be driving to Hobby Lobby. We parked and Austin turned back to Chandler and said, "Come on Chan, we have to go to Hobby Lobby" (Hobby Lobby in his "stupid, I don't want to go there" voice.) And Chandler takes out her binky and says, "Hobby Yobby." Equally as funny as her "DIE!" comment about 30 seconds before.
-She now likes to feed herself "apposaa." Applesauce. Duh. Oh and "chs" Mac n Cheese.
-We see a lot of deer around here... and anything even close to a deer (horse, moose, zebra...) is "vvvvv". Yea, we're not sure how that fits either.

Alright, enough of her funny little words.
-She can successfully point to her nose, eyes, ears, teeth, tongue, hair, neck, elbows, fingers, knees, belly button, feet, and toes.
-She'll show you her muscles if you ask her, she knows what her shirt and pants are. And she loves to get her shoes and put them on herself. And then take them off. Repeat.
-Fruit snacks have become one of her favorite foods. I don't even think she chews them. "mo, mo, mo." And they're gone in 15 seconds.
-She also likes chips. But she has to get them out of the bag herself.
-She will now let me put her hair in a ponytail. She looks like Cindy Lou Who, but it's still so cute.
-She wears mostly 18-24 month clothes, except 2T in dresses. Size 5 1/2 shoes. Size 3 diapers but I think she's on to size 4 soon.

I'm starting to freak out a little thinking that Chandler isn't going to be my only baby anymore. I get really sad thinking about not being able to give her all the attention and how I'll love my other babies as much as I love her. And I know I will, and everything will work out just fine. But I keep thinking about her not knowing what's going on when all of a sudden we bring 2 babies home with us that aren't leaving. I know that she will be a great big sister and that she will love them (eventually) I just worry about her feeling left out or feeling like she's not as important anymore.

Here's to 34 weeks... We can do this.

Twin Baby Shower

Get ready for a picture overload. My cute mom threw me and the twins the cutest baby shower a few weekends ago. The girls' room is black, white, and gold so she decided to go with that theme... along with some pink, because duh, 2 girls!

She did a breakfast theme... mini donuts, muffins, bagels, yogurt parfaits, fruit... juice and milk too of course!

She definitely went over the top with the decor but it turned out super cute!

For the favors we got all different shades of pink nail polish and paired with a little bottle of cuticle oil.

And dumb me only got a few pictures with the people who came:

Liz and I... she actually had her baby boy 4 days later!

Ashley and I.

And of course, my Chan Chan.

2 more baby girls... Bring. It. On.

3 years

August 6, 2011

Austin and I celebrated 3 years last weekend. Since I knew I was going to be 32 weeks along at the time of our actual anniversary and I wasn't sure I'd be able to travel, we celebrated a few weeks early. We planned a little weekend getaway to Salt Lake City, and also planned a vaca for Chandler to Las Vegas. We started out our weekend with dinner at The Roof Restaurant. Austin had been there before but it was my first time being there. We got a table right across from the temple and officially stuffed ourselves! It was nice to be able to actually eat our meals together without having to cut up food for Chan or keep her from wrecking the place while the other one eats.

And... these are the only pictures I got from the whole weekend ha ha. I guess we were having too much fun to document anything. The next day we went to see Wicked. I've been DYING to see this play for like 10 years... not kidding. We missed it last time it was in Las Vegas so when I saw a commercial on TV that Wicked was in Salt Lake City, I jumped all over it. Luckily, Austin actually likes musicals so he agreed that we could spend our anniversary seeing Wicked... and it did not disappoint. Besides the fact that the little usher that showed us to our seats took one look at me and said, "Please don't have your baby in our theatre", it was really fun. And don't worry sir... I won't have my babies in your theatre. I'm still 2 months away from that.

We walked around the Gateway Mall after that and ended the night with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. We ate too much food and then proceeded to order cheesecake to go. My pregnant self enjoyed it. The scale did not. Yolo.

The next morning it was back to reality. We drove back to Cedar and I dropped Austin off so he could get back to work and studying... and I drove down to Vegas to pick up Chan.

Here's to 3 years! So excited to see what's to come for us and our (rapidly) growing family!
