top ten

Who doesn't love knowing little interesting facts about other people?? My good friend, Laura, from Love & Life did a "Top Ten" post... and so, I'm copying :)

1. Back scratches. Austin will laugh at this (and totally agree) being my #1. I've always loved getting my back scratched... my mom used to scratch my back when I was little, and my grandma always gave the best back scratches when we would visit her.

2. Banana flavored anything. Shakes, smoothies, laffy taffy, slurpees, ice cream... you name it, I love it. Chunky Monkey ice cream is my jam... and recently, I discovered Haagen Dazs Gelato: Caramelized Banana Chip. bomb.

3. Reading. Now, since having Chan Chan, I don't get to read hardly ever. But I love love love getting lost in a new book. My reading list now consists of Dr.Seuss books, The Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, and Baby Wise (yes, I gave in... these 2 babes in my belly, or uhh me, are going to need a schedule!) but that's okay... I'll have time for my books later.

4. Fall. Ugh, I'm in love with fall weather. Maybe I'm a little biased with getting to live in New England for a fall... but seriously, who doesn't love the changing leaves, finally getting to break out your boots and scarves, pumpkinssssss?? And... my sweet baby girls will be here this fall! I can't wait!

5. Keys. No, not the way my daughter is obsessed with them... and about that, she now will grab my keys, wave bye bye, and head for the door... all while pressing any button she can so that my alarm goes off in my garage. Ha, I love that girl. But no, not those keys. I'm talking about the cool, vintage keys you put around your house for decoration. I'm a teeny bit obsessed. In fact, when I find some, my husband does the, "oh man... here we go..." face because I'm stuck sifting through all the keys for at least 15 minutes deciding on which one I want (or maybe I just want ALL of them).

6. Flowers. I secretly love fresh flowers. However, I hate spending money on them. I wish I could have them all over my house all the time... But they only last for a week tops, and then they're just not as pretty... and then I'm just mad that I spent money on them and now all I have is an empty vase. So I settle for the fake ones you buy at the craft store. SO not the same... but they do last longer :)

7. When Chandler says "mama". And I know all you mama's feel the same way when your baby's (toddler's) say "mama". It's so sweet and so innocent and I love the way Chandler gets a sneaky shy smile on her face when she says it. Or when I'm getting ready in the morning and all of a sudden I hear, "Mama, mama, mamaaaaaaaaa" coming from her room. Melts me. Sometimes I just wait at her door for a minute so she'll keep saying it.

8. Lipstick. Any color. Austin hates it. Well, he said he doesn't hate the way it looks, he hates the lack of kisses he gets when I wear it. I may have a slight obsession... and I may have a whole makeup bag full of it. Every girls needs a favorite lipstick in her life... and I'm convinced that a little red lipstick is guaranteed to make your day better. Or at least have a good laugh at yourself.

9. Scriptures. My life line. My brightness on a dark day. I won't get all churchy and bust into missionary mode on you... But scriptures are seriously a life-changer for me. I can always tell when I haven't read them in a while. I'm a little more moody, a little more edgy, and a little less happy. When I catch myself like this, a few verses is all I need to flip those emotions right around. Such a simple fix, and such a simple way of life.

10. Sweatpants. I love. The first thing I do when I get home from work (or anywhere that requires me to wear real clothes) it strip down and put on my sweatpants. And then I don't take them off until I have to get dressed again the next day. Now with being pregnant, I'm in sweats even when I probably should be wearing regular clothes.

Well, there ya have it. Those are my Top Ten favorite things for the moment. And with my pregnancy brain (it's so bad this time around) I probably missed some major things... But we'll save that for another post :)

thing 1 thing 2

Last weekend was sort of a big deal for our little family... We found out the genders of our sweet little twins. If you know me, you know that I love a good party... So naturally we had to have a gender reveal party for these two babes. I went with the Dr. Seuss "Thing 1 and Thing 2" theme:

My mom surprised me and had my aunt and cousin come out for the party... I had no idea! Best surprise ever!

the Meg-ley's of course :)

And now for the big reveal...
We got everyone in 2 lines... Baby A line and Baby B line... and handed out unmarked cans of silly string to each side...

1... 2... 3:

I'm pretty sure everyone was looking for any small hint of blue...

NOPE!

Two more sweet girls coming to our family.

Austin and I feel so blessed to be able to bring these two baby girls into our family. I still can't quite grasp the thought that our family will soon go from three to five but I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for everything and for everyone. I am so grateful that He has trusted me with these two sweet spirits and I know that they will be an even bigger blessing to me.

Here's to TWO more girls coming to the Hunt house... Austin, you better hold on!
Updates on my pregnant self next!

hunt family pictures

A few weeks ago, we had family pictures taken with the Hunt's. Last summer we went on a 3 week trip through Europe which included an 11 day cruise (see posts: London, Englandfunny storySpain & FranceFlorence, ItalySicily, Italy, and hopefully I'll get to Rome, Italy one day :) ). While on the cruise, we got our pictures taken with a black and white photographer and they turned out a-maz-ing. So we went back to choose the pictures we wanted and when it came time to order them, we asked how much a disc with all of the images on it would cost us...

The photographer looked at us blankly and said, "For a disc with all edited images is nineteen ninety-nine."

$19.99?? Perfect! We'll take a few discs then!

Then things got real. And by real, I mean real expensive.

She kept looking at us, blank stare and all and said, "No, one thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine dollars."

Silence.

Who is going to pay two thousand dollars for a CD of pictures?!?!? Needless to say, we didn't buy any pictures from them but I think we were all a little heartbroken about it only because the pictures turned out so good... Like we still talk about them to this day. So we decided as a family to all pitch in and get family pictures done for my mother-in-law's birthday. Here is just a sneak peek:

13 Weeks

How far along? 13 weeks

Total weight gain: 8 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yes. I'm still in denial about this.

Stretch marks? Not yet!

Sleep: depends. I'm tired ALL the time so I feel like I never get enough sleep.

Best moment this week: I went to a specialist a few days ago and got to see my little dip and dot... They are so cute!

Miss Anything? Not feeling sick all the time.

Movement: Not that I can feel... yet. I know they are moving in there because I saw them do it! And sometimes I like to think that I can feel them move... But then I get serious and think of the alternatives... eh, I'll just stick to thinking it's the babies :)

Food cravings: Taco Bell crunchwraps. Um, how gross am I? I blame it on the babes...

Anything making you queasy or sick: I thought I was getting past that (finally...) and then last night I got a nice big whiff of broccoli cheese soup... insta-gag. ew. moving on...

Gender: not sure yet. We call them dip and dot for now.

Labor Signs: Thank heavens no. Babies- don't come out for a l o n g time, okay?

Symptoms: Nauseous... more so in my neck and head, not so much in my stomach, if that makes sense? And heartburn. My body must loves Tums.

Belly Button in or out? It's pretty flat.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody? Ha  ha ha... maybe that's a question for Austin. I'm going to answer both because I'm happy... super happy. But I get moody too... and about the dumbest things. I'm working on it :)

twinning

As most of you know already... I am expecting twins in the fall. I knew right away once I found out I was pregnant that I had 2 in there. I found out around 5 weeks that I was expecting and this was how I told Austin:

Notice I put two babies in there? Oh, and sorry for the pee stick.

Austin didn't get it... But a few days later I noticed that my pants were already a little tighter and so were some of my shoes. um... excuse me? I told Austin, "there are two in there I just know it!" He thought I was crazy of course... But a few days before I went in to see my doctor for the first time (he likes to see his patients at 8 weeks) I had the same dream 2 nights in a row that I had bought my own ultrasound machine (cause those are totally affordable I'm sure) and saw that I was having twin boys. Now if any of you know about my dreams, you'll know that they're pretty accurate (not 100% but pretty close!)... I'll elaborate on my dreams later. I told Austin, who again shrugged it off...

We went into my appointment and started my ultrasound... Dr.B was super quiet for a long time... like awkward, is everything okay in there quiet. And of course I don't have a clue what I'm looking at so I'm panicking a little at this point like, "is there a baby in there?"

Finally I asked, "Is everything okay in there??" He laughed for a second (not funny) and said, "Well, it seems to me that you've got two babies in there!" I immediately shot a look over to Austin and said, "SEE!! I'm not crazy!"

So there you have it... twins are a-comin'...

welcome welcome

Hello! We're so glad you're here! I've decided to start a new blog... since, you know, our family is about to be outnumbered with children here pretty quick! Here I will take you on my journey of being pregnant with twins (this still baffles me), having a rambunctious 15 month old (love her), a husband who will be finishing up college (masters program... yikes!) and transitioning into the working world, all while still finding the joys in life! I hope you'll follow along!
